On the Move in June

Published on 4 July 2024 at 22:30

June was a busy month! I know,  in the last post I said I wanted to talk about history some more.  Another time. For now I'd like to share some of what I have seen and experienced since June 9th (yeah, it's been busy...)

Donaghadee is famous for its lighthouse and harbour,   but the tourist brochures don't talk about all the great places to walk and explore~  like the Hunt Park Water Tower.  It doesn't sound like much,  but when you climb the hill, you're on the highest point in Donaghadee and you can see for miles - literally - like to the Mourne Mountains that are a 2.5 hour drive away, and across the water to Scotland.

I also had the pleasure of a visit from my granddaughter Lily.  The flight over and the stress of jetlag and school finishing meant a quiet time for the two of us but she did learn the addictive pleasures of looking for sea glass.   It was a rough start but Lily was able to extend her stay and it proved ideal.  I left for my Ireland Retreat  (read about that in Places ) and Lily had the wonderful experience of independence in a foreign-ish country,  with her pen pal friend Beth and her family just 10 minutes away..

For the rest of the June Story,  head on over to Places to see where and what and how and who...  oh - and yes I collected more flower pictures...

Wonderful for Lily to have a grandma who gave her the space she needed. Blessings as your journey continues, Erin.
